At almost every convention I have gone to I have seen beautiful costumes of two ballerinas, one in white and one in black. They always look so beautiful. I found out that they were cosplay Princess Tutu and Princess Kraehe from Princess Tutu. I decided the other day to start watching it. I have to say I fell in love with the anime right from the beginning. From what I have been told, the story is based on that of Swan Lake, which adds a certain quality to the story for me. I love the story of a girl who is really a duck dancing to help bring the shards of a prince’s heart back to him. There is a sort of romance to that, isn’t there. Plus it’s ballet which I have always thought was a beautiful form of dance, so graceful.
I enjoy all the characters involved like the narrator guy (I cannot think of his name). I think he would be fun to cosplay at some point. I would love to cosplay Edel, she is the sort of character that provides advice to Duck (Princess Tutu) when she seems lost as to what to do. Her costume is beautiful and I think it would be fun to walk around with a box of gems trying to “sell,” give to other people.
The anime is so completely adorable. I love the art work in it. It is very stylized and angular. The voices are soft and gentle which fits with the story. Everything about this anime is cute and beautiful, definitely a girl anime but hey even guys could like it right?? Check it out if you get the chance.
