The lines at anime conventions can be a great place to make friends. You stand in line with these people for who knows how long (otakon could be hours), so what better way to pass the time than to talk to people. In the past I have begun to make new friends through standing in line. Anime USA last year while working the line for J. Michael Tatum, I got to not only get a picture of one of the best cosplays of the con that I had seen, but also make a new friend. When I go to conventions I look forward to seeing a dear friend in Maka-Nakita, who not only is a cosplayer but also a model.
When did you begin cosplaying? I did some cosplay when I was kid but didn’t know it and about it till 2006 with some friends.
What was your first cosplay? Favorite? Least Favorite?
My first cosplay was Aerith from Kingdom Hearts 2! It was my least favorite cause it was a quick process made in a rush of two weeks and dyed my hair the wrong color 
. My favorite is a tie between Maka Albarn from Soul Eater completely released at otakon 2011 and Lucy Heartfilia from Fairy tail completely released at Otakon 2012.
How old were you when you began cosplaying? For how long? I don’t know if you call it cosplaying but I was Tinker bell when I was like 5ish but been completely started in 2006 so now 7 years now into 2012
How many cosplays have you done? At least 25 that I can count lol
What is your favorite part of cosplaying? I get to act and 
betray my favorite characters and show off my sewing talent that I learned from my mom.
What would you say is the easiest part of cosplaying? How about the hardest? The easiest part is most wigs and hairstyles the hardest I would have to say is the props.
What would you say to the stereotype that cosplayers are weird, or outcasts? They are just jealous that we are talented and they aren’t and we have more friends then them lol

How do you decide which characters you want to cosplay?
Well I tend to cosplay characters that I can relate to or think is awesome or just plain like alot like for instinct Maka Albarn she’s a strong stubborn headed book work who has those special friends no matter the cause and tries to aim for the best I have almost 400+ manga and 100 books total at least that I love to read and I’m very stubborn and for Panty I think she’s just freaking kick ass and I hot character.
What would you say to someone who is afraid to cosplay?
Just do it no matter if your cosplay sucks or if your shy and don’t want people pick in you it shows everyone what you love and are into and you enjoy who you really are.
Aside from Soul Eater, what is your favorite anime? Fairy Tail, Sailor Moon, Card Captors, Panty and Stocking with Gaterbelt are my main I watch them alot lol.
What is the best part of going to a convention? The best part of going to a convention is between showing off my Talent of my cosplays, having tons of people take my photos, and meeting all my favorite voice actors .
Any upcoming cosplays you are excited about? In the next 
year between now of October 2012 and the end of 2013 I will be doing Fai D Flowrite, Maka, more Lucy, Rairty possibly, Cynthia, Princess Sailor Moon that I can think of.
Maka-Nakita is one of the sweetest people I know and I happy we got the chance to meet and talk last year at Anime USA. I hope to see her there this year and that you all check out her work as well.
