When I began planning my gender-bender version of Peter White from Alice In The Country Heart, I thought it would be cute to make jewelry to add to the costume. The original character wears a tie and I thought it would be cute to change the tie into a chocker necklace of sorts with a clock. I also wanted to make clock earrings to go with it. Unfortunately I didn’t find clock charms or anything by the time Anime USA came around so I didn’t have the jewelry aspect that I wanted, but that’s okay because I can always add too it. I think a lot of female anime characters have small bits of jewelry that can go overlooked. I love making jewelry and it seems like my own personal touch to my cosplays.
While I was out shopping with a friend at Hobby Lobby, I randomly checked out their jewelry section. To my surprise they had a whole section for fairy tale inspired things. I found a strand of clock charms, a white rabbit charm, and even a card charm with little charms of each of the suits. Of course I bought them all and am working on ideas for pieces to go with my Peter White costume. I thought the white rabbit charm would be cute to add into the chocker necklace since he is the white rabbit. The earrings I am thinking of using the suit charms as little dangling pieces with a pearl, so like heart and spade on one earring with a red pearl and diamond and club on the other with a black pearl. The pearls add a little more feminine touch. With the left over clocks from the strand I could make a bracelet.

I think I will make the jewelry now, because it is even something I can wear to work or whatever (the jewelry not the costume, well I could but probably won’t). I will post pictures of the finished product.
