I stopped into a bead shop a little bit ago with a friend of mine and the shop was offering a class in a popular bracelet called Chan Luu. What it is is leather with beads wrapped around it. with string. It is closed together with a button of sorts. It looks really pretty and seems popular with celebrities. I attempted the bracelet the other night and it was successful aside from the part that I did not tie the leather tight enough and it fell apart. Thankfully I saved all the beads and can redo it.
I came up with an idea to do this kind of bracelet but in a nerdy girl way, like making a button that is a pokeball with the beads being painted like various pokemon. Or make the beads look game related in some way. I bought a bunch of beads today, or well a large necklace at the thrift store with beads on it (thrift stores are amazing for crafting supplies and ideas.) So I am going to attempt this idea soon, after I figure out how I am going to paint the beads to make them look right and how I want them to look on the bracelet. Once I have it all figured out I will post pictures of my ideas. I love coming up with new creative ideas..don’t you?
