I have been searching online for tips on de-frizzying and de-tangling a wig and I have to say not much is helping me in my predicament. The wig I have for my Luka cosplay got destroyed in a sense. So frizzed and tangled that I do not think it is salvageable. I can’t even run my fingers through the wig to try and get is somewhat de-tangled. I did however read something that seems like it would help but I am not sure if it would, I haven’t tried it yet. What the article said was to take 1 part fabric softener (liquid) and 4 parts water and mix it together in a spray bottle. Then you can spray the wig, and run your fingers through it. That doesn’t seem like it would help for my problem.
There was more to it also, for wigs that seem unsalvageable. That one has you soaking the wig in fabric softener/water solution for a few minutes and while it is submerged in the water, you use your fingers to gently pull the tangles apart. I haven’t tried this yet, I feel a little weary about trying something that no one I know has tried yet. I would be worried that something in the fabric softener wouldn’t agree with the wig material or something, who knows. I do want to try and salvage the wig I have, I know I can recurl it to the style it was with foam curlers, but its the process of getting the wig untangled I need to do first.
