Tekkoshocon x has begun! It began on Wednesday night and runs until Sunday. I didn’t get to go on Wednesday because of work, but I did attend for a little while on Thursday hanging out with my brother and some of our friends. And so it begins.
The first panel I attended was actually on Thursday before I went to work. It was titled “My Japanese Sweet Tooth” which was hosted by our very own Chef Nicky and Evey Rose. They did a phenomenal job with this panel. They discussed various Japanese candies and desserts as well as mentioned some anime that we could see the characters eating different deserts. The Story of Saiunkoku shows the main character eating and cooking sweet bean buns throughout the series and the panel discussed those as well. The ladies made Mochi which was an amazing rice flour pasty. They were very nommy. Not only was the panel informative and made me want to try so many desserts and candies that would make my teeth rot, but they were entertaining. Evey welcomed every person who came into the panel. She would stop talking and welcome them. At one point the computer decided it needed a nap, so while waiting for it to reboot, we sang Journey to pass the time. It was a lot of fun.
The dealers room had this simply amazing Totoro backpack purse that I had to have! so I bought it. The dealers room is smaller this year, but there is still a lot of things to tickle your fancy. I might go back SUnday to get myself a grab bag, I wonder if my talent will work again. We shall see. I also got some amazing pictures with my friend Guy in our Lolita outfits. We attended the Pajama party tonight hosted by the fabulous Guy Thomassi. It was a lot of fun, he had games for everyone to play, music playing and even crayons and pencils to draw and color. It was a lot of fun to sit and just hang out with people that night especially after worked hard on costumes and at normal jobs throughout the week.
